Would it have killed them?

I have been playing Call of Duty with my boyfriend a bit and recently, our neighbor brought over Black Ops to play with us.  As in every COD game, I was quickly disappointed by the shortage of vaginas.  There was not a single playable female character in game.  I had a lot of hope for this game because it was set in WWII and so historically, there were women who fought for the Nazis at the very least in that war.  My boyfriend and neighbor couldn't understand why I felt kind of upset at the fact that there was no female character to play.  My boyfriend tried to comfort me by saying that the game played the same way, no matter what character you chose and it didn't really have any effect on the game.

I relate better to characters that have the same reproductive organs as I do.  That's just how it is and I think a lot of women probably feel the same as I do about that.  Just like men usually opt into play male characters, I want to play as a woman.  Would it have killed them to give me that option?  A growing number of gamers are women and I would like to see more FPS games with at least one female playable character.  Preferably one that's clothed too.
